Kinetic Energy of a Rolling Body


Kinetic energy when a body is rolling:






             
Consider a body of mass 'm' rolling on a surface along the axis 'I'with velocity 'v' and has an angular velocity 'Ѡ'       





Total Energy= Kinetic energy + Kinetic Rolling energy

=> 1/2 mv² + 1/2 IѠ²
           
=> 1/2 mv² + 1/2 I (V/r)²
